Annual Awards Banquet
The 2017 season has come to a close and we are gearing up for the annual banquet. This year the banquet will be held on January 13, 2018. Our guest speaker is our area representative Marcus Meredith who will bring us up to date on what the SCCA has in store for you with new programs and opportunities to have fun with cars. SBR Annual Awards and Tire Rack Solo Trophies will conclude the evening.
Social Hour 5:30—6:30 PM (cash bar) Dinner 6:30 PM
Dinner will include a choice of Chicken Picatta or Beef Tips with all the delicious extras. We will enjoy a full selection of pies, of course. A gluten-free or veggie entree is also available
This year you can register online or send in the form that was mailed to you in the last edition of the newsletter. Take a $10 banquet discount for every day you worked 2017 Street Survival events, Majors or Regional Road Races, or Lane events, up to $20 total.
Fall Karting Event
After the racing season has ended, but before the leaves have fallen we have a friendly gathering at Michiana Raceway Park. The format is usually a two person team, 40 min endurance kart race. If you've never driven a racing kart before this event is one not to miss.
Once the date is set (usually in October) an email will go out to the club and posts to our Facebook group will be made. You'll need to RSVP via the instructions provided and show up for a great evening of racing. After we are done we hold our monthly club meeting, so please join everyone for dinner after.
Once in the spring and again in the fall SBR will invade Gingerman Raceway on a Sunday evening for a club member only night on the track. Details are provided via email and our Facebook page, so please sign up on the email list and follow SBR on Facebook.
If you're a track nut, and love to take advantage of every opportunity then you need to check out SCCA's Track Night In America. While TNIA runs all across the country, we are lucky that our local track (Gingerman Raceway - South Haven, MI) schedules a few events a year. This is an affordable way to get a lot of time on the track for a low cost. If you're interested, but just not sure it's for you... come out and watch, it's FREE! Take advantage of the "Track Tour" session, where you can head out on the track being led by a pace car FOR FREE. Get a sense of what driving on the track will be like, under a controlled pace.
